If you have any contracted bookings at a Marriott Fastpay Hotel, the commission on the bedrooms only is paid centrally by Marriott Fastpay and not by the hotel. All other items that attract commission are paid by the local hotel.
InForm entries:
- All accommodation on any Marriott Fastpay Hotel booking has to be entered into Inform as a separate booking.
- All other items attracting commission (eg F&B, meeting space etc) must be entered in a separate booking to the accommodation.
- This means that for every booking into a Marriott Fastpay Hotel that agrees to pay commission on more than group room blocks, you will need to enter two bookings into Inform. For Marriott Fastpay hotels booked with accommodation only, this is not an issue as the Inform entry will be accommodation only and automatically flagged for Fastpay.
Marriott Fastpay currency: only process invoices in USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP so ALL bookings in Inform for Marriott accommodation need to be entered in one of these currencies. If a Marriott Fastpay booking is entered in any other currency besides these four, the Accounts team will automatically convert to USD so that an invoice can be sent to Marriott centrally.
Pickup report - If the booking currency is changed to one of these currencies, then the pickup request will come through in that updated currency. However, if the hotel provides the pickup in the original currency, the Accounts team are happy to convert the figures for the Associate to then enter the figures into Inform.
Please email ar@helmsbriscoe.com and provide the Booking ID (BID) in the subject title and a brief request for the action needed. Do not cc anyone and do not send lengthy emails - both will delay the response time.
Advance Pay & HBI Allotment - Contracted bedrooms at Marriott properties automatically generate Advance Pay, that is 50% advance commission payment through Marriott Fastpay.
If the bedrooms are not contracted, but are on allocation/allotment, then you need to select HBI Allotment as the item in Inform which prevents an advance invoice being issued and Fastpay will apply after the final pickup figures are confirmed.
Cancelled bookings - Advance pay on bedrooms paid through Marriott Fastpay is automatically reclaimed by the system from HB when the hotel advises Marriott centrally of the cancellation internally. This can create unique challenges per booking if the booking is rescheduled. Our recommendation is to cancel bookings and rebook them to keep the accounting clear.
Delayed commission payment - If your payment is not received within 60 days, please do not contact the hotel regarding group room block commission as they will not be able to update you.
A delayed payment needs checking. In this case, please "open a Fastpay enquiry" by emailing ar@helmsbriscoe.com providing the Booking ID (BID) in the subject title. HB Accounting team can use the Marriott Fastpay portal to identify the issue and update you.
